Google has recently launched their first true flagship smartphones after a while – the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The company has been making smartphones under the Pixel brand for years now. A few years ago, Google make midrange Pixels with great camera hardware and excellent software processing.

This year, Google has decided to compete again with Apple and Samsung on the flagship level with the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. There are many firsts introduced here such a new chipset made by Google called Tensor and upgraded camera hardware. Also included are bigger OLED displays, water and dust resistance, big batteries and 5G.

There is indeed clamor for the new devices. Adding to the hype are the reviews from tech reviewers about its camer a hardware, excellent software and software support and the big kicker is the price – $599 for the entry level Pixel 6 and $899 for the entry level Pro. This undercuts the iPhone and the Galaxy S21 series. Personally, we’ve been wanting to own a Pixel mainly because of its software support and great software processing of photos taken from it.

We came across an article from GSMArena.com with regards to their weekly poll about the new Pixels. They asked their readers if they are getting one of the Pixel 6 phones. About 29% said that they want one but it is not available in their area. The Pixels are only available in North America, Europe and selecf parts of Asia like Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore. Google’s smartphones was never available in the Philippines but you can buy one via gray market and some stalls in Greenhills. We hope someone could bring the Pixel to the local market. The price alone is an attractive factor.

For your reference, here are the specs of both phones.
