One of the best features of the Huawei Watch GT2 Pro is the hardware. Huawei did a very good job with its design and overall build quality. This is the first smartwatch we encountered that elegance and features met. Wearing the watch feels like wearing a very expensive watch like Tag Heuer. The heft of the watch adds to the premium feel of it.
The 1.39-inch display is an AMOLED panel which means, you get saturated colors. It does get bright even using it outdoors and auto brightness works perfectly fine. It is one of the best displays in a smartwatch we’ve seen. Overall, hardware is 10 out of 10 for us.
The Huawei Watch GT2 Pro is running Huawei Lite OS which is the company’s own smartwatch software. It is quite similar to Huawei’s EMUI on smartphones. If you are using a Huawei phone, this will be very familiar to you. For us, the UI is very straightforward – easy to navigate, easy to understand and easy to use.
Before you use the Huawei Watch GT2 Pro, you need to download the Huawei Health app. It is available on Huawei App Gallery, Google Play Store and Apple App Store. All necessary software updates can be downloaded from the app to the watch via Bluetooth. You can also download watch faces and adjust settings and notifications. You can also monitor you work outs, stress level and heart rate thru the app.
Huawei claims two weeks of battery life out of the 455 mAh battery. We were surprised that it indeed reached two weeks of battery life and has 10% left in the tank. That can be achieved if you don’t connect your watch to the phone and the app. Also make sure the auto brightness is turned on because if you set the brightness to a higher level, the faster the battery drains.
The Huawei Watch GT2 Pro is perfect for people who are looking to a true fitness tracker and a fashionable timepiece on your wrist. It has excellent battery life, great display and amazing battery life. For Php 11,990 it is a pretty sweet deal for a premium smartwatch given all its features. We give the Huawei Watch GT2 Pro a two thumbs up!
