HARDWARE

The Matepad 10s looks like any Android tablet we’ve seen before. The chassis is unibody and made of plastic. It is quite light and very manageable to hold. Let’s take a hardware tour. On the top we see a speaker while on the right side there is a volume rocker and power button. At the bottom there is another speaker, a 3.5 mm audio jack and SIM card tray. At the back there is the 5MP camera and at the front is the 10.1-inch display and the 2MP front camera.

The 10.1-inch display is an IPS panel with thick bezels all around. One advantage of having such bezels is to avoid accidental press on the screen and better grip as well. We also love having dual speakers on this tablet. We will test them all on our full review.

SOFTWARE

Unnder the hood the Matepad 10s is powered by a Kirin 710A processor. Well it is proven a decent performer but we will put this to a test for our review. As for the software, the tablet is running EMUI 10 over Android 10. If you are a Huawei smartphone owner, using this tablet will be very familiar to you.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

We are by far impressed despite the price tag, has dual speakers and a very decent scteen. The Matepad 10s is indeed perfect for students now on distance learning and also for entertainment purposes as well. There are still areas to cover for the full review such as performance, battery and audio. But we are already giving our recommendation if you cant wait for our full review.
