First of all, let me share a quick background story about my lifestyle and how the Fitbit Versa Lite has become an integral part of my daily routines.
As a tech blogger, we can actually work anywhere as long as we have our laptop and a good internet connection. When there’s no event, I just usually stayed at home or sometimes look for a nearby resto with fast internet to work. Even though we are handling our own time, we can’t easily say that we are like free folk because the news is coming every now and then.
Last January to February 2019, I tried to go to the gym every MWF to gain some weight and to build up my muscles. But this plan doesn’t work most of the time since events are very unpredictable. Since I’m living in Pampanga and most product launches/events are in Manila, traveling took around 6-8 hours of my day plus the 2-3 hour event, having a regular fitness schedule will not work for me.
Before having the Fitbit Versa Lite last April 2019, I currently using the Mi Band 2 and the Amazfit Bip alternately. The Mi Band 2 is one of my very first fitness wearables and it’s so good that I am able to view my daily step counts and my heart rate aside from having a watch. Few months after, I’ve got the Amazfit Bip and I’m super happy with it. Aside from the step count and heart rate monitor, it has a lot of added features like GPS, compass, cycling and more with mapped routes.
When the Fitbit Versa Lite came in, I immediately start using it and with this blog, I’m gonna share how it helped and motivates me to stay fit and monitor my fitness goals.
The Fitbit Versa Lite comes in a well-constructed body with rounded edges. Its body was made out of aluminum making it light and comfortable to wear 24/7. We are also happy to know that the glass protecting the display is a Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
I also like the placement of the power/back button on the left side of the device. It helps prevent accidental press when doing wrist-bending activities.
On the bottom part of the Fitbit Versa Lite, you will see the four sensors which include the heart rate sensor. You can also find the four gold pins here which are responsible for charging the smartwatch via the charging dock.
Speaking of the charging dock, this is how it looks like. It’s good that it has a long cable and it holds the smartwatch firmly with its clamps.
One of the best things we like about the Versa Lite is the availability of colorful bands that you can pair with it. When we got our unit, it came with the Lilac color. That’s why we ordered these other pairs of bands to match our different styles. Also, thanks to its silver and black body, pairing it with a different color of band is so easy.
DISPLAY QUALITY AND SCREEN NAVIGATION
The Fitbit Versa Lite has a 1.32-inch display with 300×300 pixels in resolution. Yes, it is colored and there are a lot of watch faces that you can choose from. Browsing the watch interface is also pretty smooth and the display is very responsive to touch.
WHAT ARE THE THINGS IT CAN DO?
This smartwatch is not only about having a digital watch with remote notification features. The Fitbit Versa Lite has a lot of health tracking and fitness tracking functions which are not available in some budget-friendly wearables.
First on the list is the 24/7 heart rate monitor. You can actually enable or disable it so save battery. But being able to see your heart rate throughout the day is one of the cool features that I like about this device.
Second is the sleep quality tracker. Since the Versa Lite is not that bulky and it’s comfortable to wear, I usually don’t remove it on my wrist during bedtime to help me to track my sleep time and how deep my sleep is.
The Fitbit Versa Lite also has support to more than 15 types of exercises and you can set a goal for calorie burned, distance, and duration. It also allows you to view real-time stats and progress of your exercise and get a celebration animation when you hit the goal.
If you are more into outdoor exercise, the Versa Lite can also track your running, biking, or hiking with GPS support from your smartphone.
The watch can also notify you to move it has detected that you are sitting for a long time. Of course, you can still disable that feature it is not applicable to you. In case you are in stress, the watch has a built-in relax guide to help you ease your mood.
And lastly, being a smartwatch, you can also set an alarm, use it as a timer, view the weather, quickly reply to messages on Android, and control your music playing on your phone.
The Fitbit Versa Lite is a stylish and accurate fitness tracker that will surely meet the needs of most users. The silver and black body can be easy to pair with any band color that you like. When it comes to health tracking and fitness, the 24/7 heart rate monitor and the sleep tracker are both amazing. It also has a lot of supported exercises where you can use it. And what I like the most is the Fitbit community inside the app. It helps me a lot to reach better result every time I finish my goal. The app also allows me to interact and challenge other Fitbit users.
