The Leagoo Power 5 is a rare smartphone with a massive 7,000 mAh battery.
If you are the adventurous type of person or if you want a smartphone with longer battery life, maybe this phone is the right one for you.
The Leagoo Power 5 has a solid build quality. It has a tough metal frame and a polycarbonate back cover with honeycomb-like design patterns.
Yes, it is heavy since it has a huge 7,000 mAh battery inside. The feeling is like carrying two phones.
Despite its huge battery, the Leagoo Power 5 has managed to maintain an acceptable thickness for a smartphone. It’s just like a normal smartphone with a rugged case and it can still be fitted on your pocket.
On the front, the Leagoo Power 5 still carries the old smartphone design from 2017. Top and bottom bezels are still too thick and there is a dark outline around the display.
We also like to commend its color coating. The device that we have comes a blue color that is covering the whole device from the front to the back.
When it comes to the ports and buttons positioning, the Leagoo Power 5 has the hybrid SIM tray, volume rocker, and power button on the right side. The loudspeaker grills and the USB Type-C port are on the bottom part and the audio jack port was on the top.
The Leagoo Power 5 has a 5.99-inch FHD IPS display with 1080p resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. That is pretty decent for its price point. The colors are vibrant and it has a bright screen that you can comfortably use it under direct sunlight.
The device was powered by MediaTek Helio P23 Octa-core processor paired with 6GB of RAM. It might not be the best processor on its price point but it can still run popular games like Mobile Legends, ROS, and PUBG. Though we recommend you to set the games on the lowest settings to enjoy a smoother performance. On the other hand, multi-tasking and opening apps simultaneously are very possible because of its huge memory.
Updates are still coming from time to time.
The Leagoo Power 5 has a dual-rear camera setup composed of a 13MP Sony IMX258 + 5MP depth sensor. On the front, it has a 13MP camera with an LED flash.
When it comes to quality, the output images are acceptable since it still falls under the entry-level category and the camera is not the main feature of the phone.
See some sample photos below:
With its 7,000 mAh battery, the Leagoo Power 5 can really last for two days of extreme usage. If you are just into text, call, and using the camera app casually, this device can actually last for more than 3 days. We’ve done a video loop test with 50% brightness + 50% volume and the result is around 18 hours of playtime before it died.
The Leagoo Power 5’s main asset is the battery life. The 7,000 mAh battery is not just a gimmick. It’s real and it has good and negative implications. In terms of the good aspects, yes you can enjoy superb battery life that can last up to 3 days or above depending on your usage. On the negative side, the thickness and the weight of the phone are way bigger thicker and heavier compared to other smartphones. But that’s just the prize of having a big battery on a smartphone. After all, you can also enjoy the 25W fast charging and 7.5W wireless charging on this phone.
