Google has finally announced the official name of the next upgrade to its Android 9 Pie – the Android 10 (codename: Android Q), without any dessert-based name.
The company came up in abandoning the dessert-based names to make the names more accessible across more markets because, like before, not everyone was familiar with the names that Google chose.
Aside from the naming scheme, Google also releases the redesigned Android logo and mascot. It now comes in a bluish-green color to cater to those people with color blindness, knowing that green-red blindness is the most common type of color blindness.
When it comes to the Android robot and branding, Google also changed the Android branding from green to black so people with visual impairments can easily read it. The Android robot was also redesigned for a more modern look.
These changes will also take effect on the UI of the next version of Android.
Google will officially start using the updated logo in the coming weeks with the final release of Android 10.
