MediaTek has officially launched the i700 chipset with high-speed edge AI computing capability for fast image recognition.
The MediaTek i700 platform features an eight-core architecture that integrates two ARM Cortex-A75 processors operating at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 processors operating at 2.0 GHz. It has an IMG 9XM-HP8 graphics processor with a frequency of 970MHz.
According to MediaTek, the i700 is 5x better compared to the i500 when it come to AI. It also supports the Android Neural Networks API and deep learning frameworks.
The MediaTek i700 can support a 32MP camera or a dual-camera combination of 24MP and 16MP.
In addition, MediaTek i700 platform also supports 2×2 802.11ac Wi-Fi, low-power Bluetooth 5.0 technology, and built-in mobile network baseband supporting up to Cat.12.
The powerful AI recognition capability of the MediaTek i700 platform can provide technical support for the identification and face payment of unmanned stores, face access control for smart buildings, and company attendance systems.
While in smart factories it can help The truck automatically identifies obstacles to avoid accidents. In sports and fitness applications, the 3D human body gesture recognition function on the i700 platform not only provides us with advice on fitness posture but also automatically detects dangerous gestures in life and work, thus providing early warning.
The MediaTek i700 platform solution will begin to be available in 2020.
