OPPO teased its new front-facing camera solution while still achieving a full-screen display – this was done by placing the camera under the display.
Earlier yesterday, OPPO VP Bryan Shen shared a video of a working prototype device with a selfie camera built under the screen. Then, Oppo’s official Twitter account also posted another video featuring this new tech.
The 15-second video shows the launching of the selfie camera. You can notice that the phone has a full screen display and when you open the camera, it has the same glowing effect with the Samsung S10 selfie camera.
The selfie camera was placed at the upper middle portion and the user has successfully taken some pictures using the new device of OPPO.
Unfortunately, there are no other details mentioned on the posted video but the company’s VP mentioned that the optical quality of the sensor used in the demo is still inferior to regular front-facing camera. He also said that they still need some time to perfect this kind of technology.
