You may soon be able to keep your mobile number regardless of the service provider you choose.
Malacañang has recently announced that President Rodrigo Duterte has already signed the Republic Act 11202, or the Mobile Number Portability Act.
The new law orders telecommunications company to allow its users to be able to keep their mobile numbers when they moved to other service providers.
It was also mentioned that it should be free of charge when keeping someone’s old mobile number.
President Duterte signed the law last February 8, 2019 and concerned agencies such as National Telecommunications Commission, Department of Information and Communications Technology, National Privacy Commission, and Philippine Competition Commission are now on the move with the implementation of rules and regulations.
