Are you looking for a very compact digital camera? Well, here’s the Sony RX100 VI that offers a very long zoom and fast focus capability on its very small form factor. Sounds cool right?

BUILD QUALITY

The Sony RX100 VI has a very compact form factor. It is super portable and way lighter than small DSLRs. It also looks to be a small professional camera because of its pop-out flash and the electronic View Finder.

FUNCTIONS

We love the View Finder so much! It’s just so glad to see an electronic View Finder on non-DSLR cameras. The display is automatically turning off when it detected that you are looking at the View Finder which is so cool.

Vlogger will surely love this camera because of the 180-degree adjustable display. With this, you can now see what’s being recorded or check out your faces when taking a groupfie. For foodies out there, this camera is also perfect because you can also tilt the display 90 degrees downward which is very convenient when shooting flat-lays.

Sony has an app named PlayMemories Mobile that you can install on your Android or iOS devices which you can use for file transfer and remote control. Since it has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC that’s why transferring photos and videos became super convenient.

PERFORMANCE

The Sony RX100 VI can shoot incredible and blur-free images because of its Fast Hybrid Auto-Focus system. And the zooming capability is really superb! It can zoom up to 200mm and that is long enough to capture far objects like someone who is on the stage or birds and butterflies on the trees.

The facial recognition is also refreshed on this new model and it can detect a face even if it is far from the camera.

It can also record up to 4K videos and 960 High Frame Rate clips and its just really amazing to see these features on a very compact point-and-shoot camera.

BATTERY LIFE

Since the RX100 VI has a very small form factor, it’s battery is also a little bit smaller compared to full size DSLR. Casual shooting throughout the day is still possible but if you are planning to use it on a party and shoot 4K videos, you better bring out some extra batteries on you. Good thing though, you can charge it without removing the battery from the camera. So if you have a powerbank, that might just save your whole day of shooting.

VERDICT

Sony has been able to produce at least one of these cameras each year since 2012 and its very exciting to see that they’ve come a long way in terms of the new features on each generation. The Sony RX100 VI is for those people who are always on-the-go and doesn’t want to carry large and bulky cameras. For the price of Php70,000 we feel that the RX100 VI might be too pricey for most Filipino. But if you have the money and you are planning to buy it, go ahead and you will never regret it.
