OPPO A7 Review

When you look at the OPPO A7, it is actually got almost the same look with the OPPO F9. The only difference is the new glaring back cover. There is no gradient color here but the back cover on the OPPO A7 has a 3D heat-curved sheet with vertical-textured lining on it. As expected, it is prone to fingerprint smudges so we recommend you to put the included soft jelly case to maintain the beautiful aesthetic and to add protection to the phone at the same time.

The fingerprint scanner, the dual-rear cameras, and the LED flash are placed just like on the OPPO F9.

The ports and physical buttons placement are also similar to the OPPO F9. The power button was located on the right side while the volume rockers and SIM tray are placed on the left side. On the bottom side, you will find the speaker grill, microphone, and the audio jack port.

The OPPO A7 was equipped with a 6.2-inch screen but sadly it only has a 720p display resolution. But don’t worry, the viewing experience is still acceptable. The colors are still vibrant and the sharpness on the details are on point. Also, don’t forget about the water-drop notch. Aside from the flagship OPPO R17 Pro and the OPPO F9, the OPPO A7 is the third to have this display implementation.

The OPPO A7 was only equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. This is quite intriguing because you can now have a Snapdragon 660-powered smartphone on a 14K budget. As for the performance, well you can expect that it can still run some games like Mobile Legends and other light to medium graphics games. Games such as Asphalt 9 and PUBG are still playable but on their low graphics mode to maintain optimum performance during the game.

The OPPO A7 was equipped with a dual-rear camera composed of a 13MP + 2MP sensors. Image quality is pretty decent specially in well-lit environments. Colors and sharpness are good but it suffers a little bit on low-light because of the small aperture on its main lens. On the other side, the 16MP front camera does its job well. It can produce beautiful selfies just like any other OPPO smartphones.

The battery life of the OPPO A7 is superb! The 4,230mAh battery can lasts around 2 days of average usage. Power saving is also very efficient in keeping the battery juice even when leaving the device on idle for the whole day.

The OPPO A7 is like a twin sister of the OPPO F9 when it comes to physical appearance. It’s an alternative option if you like the aesthetic feature of the F9 but you are in a low budget. But one of the major downsides that we see here is the processor that empowers the whole device. We think that the Snapdragon 450 processor inside this smartphone is too low for its price. Never-the-less, the huge 4,230mAh battery is one of the good key features if you are planning to buy this phone.
