Yes you read it right! The Meizu Zero is the first smartphone with no physical buttons, loud speaker grills, and USB port for charging.
The Meizu Zero uses touch capacitive panels on the side as a replacement to the physical power and volume buttons. This implementation is similar to the one that we’ve seen on the HTC U12+.
For the speaker, Meizu uses a piezoelectric transducer under the display just like the one on the Sharp Aquos Crystal and Xiaomi Mi Mix.
As for the charging, the Meizu Zero has an 18W of wireless charging technology which is still faster than conventional chargers with 5V/2A of output.
If you are thinking about putting SIMs on it, you cannot do that because it also has no ports for that. The Meizu Zero is using eSIM just like the one on the new iPhones.
Meanwhile, the Meizu Zero was equipped with a 5.99-inch AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 12MP + 20MP rear cameras, 20MP selfie camera, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
There are no other official statement about the RAM, storage, and battery but the Meizu Zero was expected to come out in Black and White colors.
On the other hand, Vivo was also expected to release a smartphone with the same concept but Meizu rushed to overtake Vivo with the official announcement.
With this, 2019 is becoming more exciting. The idea of buttonless or holeless smartphone might be the next trend this year. What do you think?
