HP Chromebook 14 with AMD Processor announced


HP has recently announced a new Chromebook laptop powered by an AMD chipset. It is the first Chromebook with an AMD AA4 or A6 processor. Most Chrombebooks are powered by Intel’s low power chipsets and ARM-based processors. This means the HP Chromebook 14 has more power for more demanding tasks.

Chromebooks are powered by Google’s Chrome OS, an opertating system for laptops which directly compete with Microsoft’s Windows and Apple’s MacOS. You apps on your Android device can run on Chrome OS via downloading it via Google Play Store.

HP Chromebook 14 (AMD-powered) specs:

  • AMD A4 or A6 dual core processors
  • AMD Radeon R4 or R5 graphics
  • 4GB RAM
  • 32GB eMMc internal memory
  • 14-inch HD (1366 x 768 pixels, non touch) or 14-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels, touchscreen) display
  • 2x USB Type C ports
  • 2x USB 2.0 ports
  • WiFi, Bluetooth
  • Up to 9.5 hours battery life
  • Chrome OS

The AMD powered HP Chromebook 14 will have a price tag of $269 for the base model.
