ASUS Zenfone 5 is now receiving the official Android Pie update

ASUS Zenfone 5

New year, new OS update. As promised, this is what the ASUS Zenfone 5 is having right now – the Android Pie OTA update.

Few weeks ago, a developer’s version of the Android 9 Pie update for the Zenfone 5 has been leaked online and some users can’t wait to try it. They have to download and install it manually. Since it is a beta version, personels from the ASUS PH HQ are not recommending it because there might be some bugs that are not yet fixed.

And just yesterday, some Zenfone 5 users are reporting that they have alrealy receiving the official OTA update for the Android 9 Pie.

The Android 9 Pie update has a file name/version of WW_16.0610.1812.58. It has a file size of 1.14GB.

For those who already flashed the dev version WW_16.0610.1812.52, don’t worry because you will be receiving a patch update for the updated version that has a file size of 421MB.

Meanwhile, for Zenfone 5Z users, the official Android Pie update has been rolling out since last year but is only limited to Taiwan users.

Since the server pushes update notice to different serial numbers by batches, it may take some days for you to receive the FOTA notice.
