The Huawei Y9 2019 edition is now available in the market with a huge 6.5-inch display and some specs similar to the Nova 3i like the quad-camera setup.
The Nova 3i was priced at P15,990 while the Y9 2019 was priced at only P12,990. On a price difference of P3,000, let’s see what are the trade-offs and why the new Huawei Y9 2019 is the one for you.
The Huawei Y9 2019 has a tall and very slim form factor. Its back is somehow similar to the Nova 3 but it is actually made from glass-like sturdy plastic. It also has some curves on its edges which makes it easier to pick-up from flat surface. We also like that the notch is way smaller compared to the Nova 3 series.
On of the best feature of the Y9 2019 is the huge display. The 6.5-inch Full HD display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio may not be as good as the one installed on flagship devices, but the one on the Y9 2019 is pretty decent for the price. For sure you will love watching your favorite movies and TV shows on its big screen.
The Huawei Y9 2019 is one of the most powerful smartphone on its price-point with the Kirin 710 processor found on the Nova 3i. Browsing the device is so smooth and using different apps at the same time is not a problem.
As you can see, the Y9 2019 adopted the quad-camera setup from the Nova series. On the back, it has a 13MP + 2MP cameras while on the front, it has a 16MP + 2MP cameras.
Camera performance is good specially in good lighting condition. It has the Master AI which boost the saturation of photos by default while automatically detect the scene. Good thing, you have the option to disable the AI after taking the shot.
Here are some sample photos:
The big display was also accompanied by a big battery. It has a 4000mAh battery that can last around 10 hours of heavy usage. This is truly a good phone for multimedia consumption.
Charging the device from 10% to 100% will last around 1 hour and 35 minutes with the use of the included 5V/2A charger.
The Huawei Y9 2019 is a good alternative to the Nova 3i. It has the same Kirin 710 processor with a larger display and battery capacity. Some trade-offs are the plastic build, lower camera pixels, and lower memory configurations. But if you are more into multi-media and you want a device with large display and longer battery life, therefore, this device might be the one you are looking for.
