Honor 8X review

The Honor 8X is one of the easiest smartphone to recommend for consumers who are looking the perfect device for their 13K budget.

Most of our followers are asking our advise and the Honor 8X is one of the most frequent smartphone that we are recommending to them.

Are you still wondering why? Read our thoughts and opinion.

BUILD QUALITY

Honor 8X review

Just like other mid-range smartphones now-a-days, the Honor 8X is now also build from glass and metallic/aluminum body construction. This results to a premium feel when holding the device. Unfortunately, there is no gradient color available on this device but you can still choose the blue and the red one. The two-toned color on its back is also creating a unique visual effect that separate it from the others. The dual-camera setup on the back are slightly elevated but putting a protective case on it will flatten the back which is also highly recommended since it’s made of glass.

Ports and Buttons:

  • Right: volume rocker & power button
  • Left: SIM tray
  • Top: microphone
  • Bottom: loud speaker, micro-USB port, microphone, headphone jack

DISPLAY QUALITY

Honor 8X review

On the front, the 6.5-inch display with 19.5:9 screen ratio looks slightly taller compared to other phone 18:9 aspect ratio. The Full HD display is pretty decent; colors are good and same with the clarity and details.

PERFORMANCE

Honor 8X review

When it comes to performance, the Honor 8X adopted the same processor with the Huawei Nova 3i which is around 3K more expensive. The 12nm chipset can make most of the tasks done. Paired with 4GB of RAM, multi-tasking is not a problem.

CAMERA

The 20MP main camera + the 2MP depth sensor on the back can capture pretty decent photos specially on good lightning condition. The colors are more pronounced when the AI was ON. Good thing, you can still switch it off after taking the shot. At night, the lights are a little bit blown out and details are not that sharp, but thanks to its Night Mode feature, everything are being okay. The 16MP selfie camera is also decent. The details are there and color reproduction is also good.

Here’s the camera interface for your reference:

BATTERY LIFE

Honor 8X review

This device has a 3750 mAh battery and we are getting around 15 hours of screen on time. The 12nm Kirin 710 processor is very efficient in battery consumption. Even though it was only equipped with a microUSB port, it still support 10W fast charging technology.

VERDICT

The Honor 8X is a real worth your bucks. Aside from the premium build, it has these pretty decent specifications like the Kirin 710 12nm processor and 4GB of RAM that can really do most of the tasks done as well as in gaming. The 128GB internal storage is also a good deal for the price. Not to mention, the Honor 8X was included on our #FTARecommended smartphone for the year 2018.

So what do you think about the Honor 8X? It is the one you are looking for?
