Realme, a new smartphone brand, has officially launched here in the country. As a kick-starter, they also launched their first device for the Philippine market – the Realme C1.
The Realme C1 is very similar to the OPPO A3S. Same body, display, and most of the specifications. The only difference is that, the Realme C1 only has a 5MP front camera compared to the 8MP on the OPPO A3S. For the price, the Realme C1 was only priced at P5,990 compared to the P6,990 on the other device.
Is it really the “Entry-Level King”? Let’s find out.
What’s in the box:
- Realme C1 unit
- wall adaptor
- data/charging cable
- jelly case
- SIM ejector tool
For the price of under 6K, the Realme C1 doesn’t feel cheap at all. It has a very solid build quality with a premium feel. It has a glossy glass-like back cover which is actually made from plastic. Because of that, it is also fingerprint and smudge magnet.
Ports and Buttons:
- Right:power button
- Left: volume rockers, tri-slot SIM tray
- Bottom: loud speaker, micro-USB port, microphone, 3.5mm jack port
- Top: nothing
The Realme C1 has a huge 6.2-inch display on a small form factor. The 720p resolution might be too low but the actual viewing experience is still acceptable for the price. The colors are also vibrant, details and sharpness are on point, viewing angles are good, and screen brightness is okay in any lighting conditions.
OS, SOFTWARE, AND UI
ColorOS is not a new thing if you are wondering how the device looks like when you are using it. Aside from that, it is now running on Android 8.1 Oreo. There are some pre-installed third party apps but you can uninstall them if you don’t need them.
The Realme C1 is the most affordable smartphone to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. The overall performance is pretty acceptable. Swiping and switching through different apps is still smooth. When it comes to gaming, the Realme C1 can run Mobile Legends: Bang Bang on the default setting without experiencing lags. Oh, by the way, you can also play PUBG with it!
Just like the OPPO A3S, the Realme C1 has a 16GB of internal storage that can be expand up to 256GB via dedicated microSD card slot.
The Realme C1 has a 13MP + 2MP dual rear camera setup and a single 5MP front camera. It can capture decent and acceptable quality photos specially on good lighting conditions.
The price doesn’t give you less features, and that’s what we like about it. You can still enjoy the camera features found on mid-range OPPO devices on a much affordable smartphone like the Realme C1.
