OPPO A3s is a smartphone that focuses on value. It is beautifully designed and the 2.5D curved glass design makes the surface reflect strikingly.

This phone is at a glance similar to OPPO F7. The back looks sleek with a glass finish, even though it is actually made from polycarbonate plastic. There are two choices of colors, namely red for those of you who like to appear more striking and dark purple.

The camera module on the top back stands out slightly with a beautiful chrome border.

There’s also the OPPO logo on the back, where the fingerprint area is also usually located. But the A3s does not have a fingerprint sensor. Instead, face unlock is the substitute, which is quite fast to recognize the face of the user.

In the notch, there’s a telephone speaker module, a selfie camera, and a facial unlock function. On the left, there’s a volume button and a SIM card + micro-SD slot. Then on the right, there’s the power button. As well as below, there’s a speaker hole, mic, audio jack, and the micro-USB charger port.

The front is dominated by a full screen with a ratio of 19:9. But unfortunately, it only carries an HD+ screen with 720 x 1520 resolution. Even so, the screen still feels good thanks to the color tone and angle of view which is quite good.

The aforementioned 19:9 aspect ratio allows the OPPO A3s to display a wider gamut of graphics. You can see the details on the side clearly.

And with the IPS screen technology, it also allows the display to look beautiful and sharp, even from the side view.

The OPPO A3s uses ColorOS version 5.1 operating system based on Android OS version 8.1 Oreo. The user interface is simple and can customize the home screen, such as changing the wallpaper and themes, bringing the widget to the home screen, and changing the screen unlock effect.

There’s a phone management application. For setting up various applications, such as clearing RAM memory, virus scan, or privacy settings, to access the message.

It also has a new feature called Game Space, which brings all the games together. You can lock the screen brightness to the desired level while playing the game or block notifications while playing games. You can also talk to the incoming call while playing the game.

It also supports gestures such as double click on the display to wake up the phone, draw the letter O to activate the camera. You can also set other font styles.

Another new feature available on the OPPO A3s is the Music Party for sharing music over WiFi, to listen simultaneously on 2 or more smartphones.

The OPPO A3s uses a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 450 processor, Adreno 506 graphics processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of ROM.

In terms of gaming performance, the internal specifications may not seem quite good. However, it has a Game Acceleration system that will help manage the memory and optimize for more games.

The OPPO A3s camera displays various function icons. It is convenient to use. And there are several shooting modes to choose from, such as normal shooting mode, Portrait mode, and Panorama mode.

For the quality of the back camera, it is quite good especially in bright lighting conditions, sharp and the details are also decent. For photo bokeh, it looks pretty neat thanks to the dual camera.

Whereas for the 8MP front camera, the bokeh mode is not as good as the rear camera, it still looks less smooth on the separation between objects with the background. But besides, the Al beauty works well to smooth the face.

The OPPO’s Al Beauty System will naturally help the body to produce natural facial features, with its 296 face-to-face processing points, as well as skin color or gender analysis.

The video mode can shoot at full HD resolution (1080p). It can also adjust the skin smoothness of 6 levels, but if the video together with the skin smooth adjustment, it will shoot video at the maximum resolution of HD (720p).

The OPPO A3s transmits on all 2G, 3G and 4G (LTE) frequencies in the country. The reception performance is good most of the time. Calls are pleasantly loud and the voice is transmitted clearly understandable. This results in an excellent call quality and also the speakerphone can be used well.

The WLAN module works with modern B/G/N standard in the 2.4GHz network and with excellent reception. Bluetooth 4.2, OTG, GPS, and even an FM radio are also supported.

The internal speaker is decent, and at a higher volume, distortion is even noticeable. With normal earphones, the sound is not very loud, but quite good.

The point of sale is the smartphone’s battery life, which is ensured by a 4,230 mAh strong battery. As one would expect, the test shows that the OPPO A3s is indeed a real battery monster. As we finished the PC battery benchmark, it scored an enormous 19 hours and 21 minutes. Even intensive users can reach up to 2 days with the OPPO A3s.

OPPO A3SDespite that huge battery runtimes, it doesn’t support quick charging. You’ll have to wait for 3 hours to completely re-charge the device. This is understandable for the price.

Clear advantages of the OPPO A3s are the long battery life and the design.

The workmanship and choice of materials are well suited for an entry-level smartphone. The performance of the processor is sufficient in every day for smooth playback and the display is great. The low-light camera performance and the slow charging time are mediocre, but this is more than made up for by the great battery life and the good voice quality.

We can not also escape the fact that the memory is only 2GB / 16GB. The OPPO A3s is the answer to those who want a smartphone with a beautiful design, and a long-lasting battery that costs below PHP 7K.
