OPPO A83 Unboxing and First Impressions

The OPPO A83 is the newest member of the A-series and the full screen phones of Oppo. This new device has inherited some of the specifications from the OPPO F5 and F5 Youth. And on its official price of P9,990, you can now enjoy selfies with the same A.I Beauty Recognition Technology from the OPPO F5-series on a lesser price.

OPPO A83 Specs

  • 5.7-inch HD+ IPS LCD display (1440 x 720 pixels) 18:9 aspect ratio
  • 2.5GHz Octa-core  Mediatek Helio P23 processor
  • Mali G71 graphics
  • 32GB internal storage expandable via microSD up to 128GB
  • 3GB RAM
  • 13 megapixel rear facing camera with autofocus and LED flash (f/2.2 aperture)
  • 8 megapixel front facing camera (f/2.2 aperture)
  • Android 7.1 Nougat with ColorOS 3.2
  • Dual SIM, Dual Standby
  • 4G/LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, Face Recognition
  • 3,180 mAh battery
  • P9,990

As we mentioned above, the new OPPO A83 is just like a small sibling of the OPPO F5 and F5 Youth. Some noticeable lost on the design are the antenna bands, the silver lining around the side edges, and the fingerprint scanner on the back. While on its front panel, everything was just the same with the OPPO F5.

Ports and buttons are also identical with the OPPO F5 and F5 Youth.

It has the tri-slot SIM card / microSD card slot on the right side along with the power button.

The volume rockets are located on the left side.

And the 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone, microUSB port, speaker grills are located on the bottom.

The OPPO A83 has a 5.7-inch HD IPS screen display with 1440 x 720 pixels resolution. Having a 720p screen resolution might results to pixelated images on the screen but so far, we love the colors and the vibrancy of icons, this might be because of the ColorOS running on this device.

This device was on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. With the beautiful and clean ColorOS, aside from Google and system applications, there are no other third party apps pre-installed on phone.

The camera UI is also just the same with the OPPO F5. It has a 1x-2x zoom button, beauty, HDR, expert mode, and more.

The OPPO A83 is a bang for the buck smartphone. With this device, you can enjoy the same experience that the OPPO F5 is catering for a much lower asking price. This device has the same Mediatek Helio P23 processor and Mali G71 MP2 graphics (the one found on the OPPO F5). And since it is already 2018, this new device was also equipped with an 18:9 aspect ratio and slim bezzels around the screen. OPPO also guaranteed that the A83 was also capable of giving you better selfies with its A.I. Beauty Recognition Technology. What more can we say about it? We are so excited to test its capabilities and performance. Until then, wait for our final review.
