Team Liquid and Team Virtus Pro Are Backing-out of the Galaxy Battles 2018

The Galaxy Battles was supposed to be the first Major of 2018 which will be held here in our country, on the Philippine Arena specifically.

But last Wednesday, Valve has posted an update regarding their decision of rescinding the Galaxy Battles 2018 tournament’s Major designation, including the Pro Circuit 1500 qualifying points and the $1,000,000 price pool! This is all because of the government regulations for e-sports players entering the Philippines which includes forms, reports, and tests. Check out the official announcement of Valve here.

In line with this, the top two worldwide DOTA2 team players, the team Liquid and the team Virtus Pro, are pulling their appearance on the said tournament despite of having a direct invite. Team Virtus Pro has also posted it on their Facebook Page | Virtus Pro.

Meanwhile, Valve together with the Philippine organizers will look for other ways to conduct a similar Major event with the same price pool and qualifying points.
