Kata T Mini 4 Unboxing and First Impressions

While most of us are very fascinated with the uprising of bezel-less smartphones,  there are still some people who are looking for budget friendly devices that can suit their basic daily routines rather than considering the physical design.

So if you are one of those people who are looking for a device for your basic daily routines, you might want to consider the Kata T Mini 4.

What’s inside the box:

  • Kata T Mini 4 unit
  • power adapter
  • USB data/charging cable
  • manuals

Unfortunately, there is no earphone included in the package.

Kata T Mini 4 Specifications:

  • 6.95-inch IPS capacitive HD (1280×720) display
  • 64-bit Quad-Core 1.0GHz Mediatek MT8735P processor
  • Mali T720MP2 graphics
  • 8GB internal memory expandable via microSD
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8 MP rear facing camera with LED flash
  • 5 MP front facing camera
  • Dual SIM, Dual Standby
  • 4G/LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth
  • LTE: 850/900/1800/2100/2600MHz
  • 3,000 mAh battery
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow
  • Price: P4,599.00

The Kata T Mini 4’s back chassis is made of metal but the upper back portion is actually plastic. It can be peeled off in which will reveal the dual SIM card slots and microSD card slot. That metal has a purpose and that is to hold the device by a mount with a magnet specially for drivers out there.

Ports and Buttons:

  • Right – power button, volume rockers
  • Top – USB port, 3.5mm earphone jack

The unit is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Packed with 64-bit Quad-Core 1.0GHz Mediatek MT8735P processor and Mali T720MP2 graphics which is a good combination of specs for entry level users.

Its has almost the same display with its predecessor, the Kata T Mini 3. The 6.95-inch display of the T Mini 4 does have a lower resolution of 1280 x 720. It may be low but that has a good effect on the battery. And it has accurate colors and has good outdoor visibility.

The Kata T Mini 4’s best feature is the 4G/LTE connectivity. With this, you can expect to have better signals and internet connection while surfing.

The device has a lower battery pack compared to its predecessor. It only has 3000mAh of juice but due to its lower screen resolution, expect it to handle the same amount of running time as the Kata T Mini 3 does.

The Kata T Mini 4 is just like a typical tablet at first look. But we are impressed with its build quality. We like its metal back cover, it makes the device durable and comfortable to hold. Plus the 4G/LTE connectivity. Kata said that this device is mainly build for drivers which is somehow justifiable. Drivers need bigger screen for their navigation, a good GPS system, and of course a fast internet connection. These basic needs of a driver are packed on the Kata T Mini 4.
