Remember our review of the Vivo V5s? We said that the design is already becoming stale. with the arrival of the Vivo V7+, it is a refreshing new design. The 18:9 screen eats up most of the front and just like the likes of the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8, you will get 84% screen to body ratio.
The device should be a big one since it has a 6-inch display buy it is not. It does fit well in our hands because it does not feel big at all. And since front is dominated by the display, the fingerprint scanner is moved to the back.
But Vivo adds a feature called Face ID Access in which it detects your face as you raise the phone to your face and unlocks it. It is the same concept as the new iPhone X.
Vivo also included a Hi Fi chip for mind blowing audio experience and we have to test it further on our full review.
This may sound ironic but the display is both its greatest strength and its weakness. With an all-screen display and wider screen ratio, watching movies will be so much fun. For specs geeks, however, the HD display wont be pleasing to them. We think a Full HD display will do the trick.
For a couple of hours, we looked at the display closely. It is not pixelized though it is not as vibrant as their other phones like the Vivo V5 Plus.
The Vivo V7+ is one of the first smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 450 chipset. Though we think that the Snapdragon 630 will best suit the Vivo V7+, Snapdragon 450 performs very well on everyday multitasking. Further testing should be done especially for gaming on our full review.
The mist striking feature we love on the Vivo V7+ is the display. The wider screen ratio will indeed bring you the device to a different level.
There is another strength of the Vivo V7+ that we did not cover and that’s the killer 24 megapixel selfie camera. Stay tuned for our full review as well cover everything there.
The Vivo V7+ will be available in stores on September 30, 2017.
