Last week, we made an unboxing and first impressions article. And today, after almost 2 week of using the phone as our daily driver, here’s our final review.

Compared to its predecessor (Zenfone 2 Selfie), the Zenfone 4 Selfie has changed a lot. From removable back cover to unibody design. And when we compared the Zenfone 4 line-ups with the Zenfone 3 line-ups, we can see that the physical design of the phones has also changed like the placement of the fingerprint scanner on the front which also serves a the home button. The Zenfone 4 Selfie has a slim, polycarbonate shell that has a metallic finish and a unibody construction. We had the Deep Sea Black color which look normal as first glance but glitters when subjected to the sun’s light.

Unlike other Zenfone 4 line-ups, the Zenfone 4 Selfie has lowest screen resolution of 1280  x 720 for a HD IPS LDC display. This results to normal viewing experience. We also feel that the colors are not vibrant and we tried to install Asus Splendid to boost the colors on the screen but the device does not support the said app.

The device is running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset and has an octa-core processor up to 1.4 GHz plus the Adreno 505 GPU. It is also updated to Android Nougat 7.1.1 with Asus ZenUI 4.0. The combination of these specifications results to a smooth experience while using the device.

Most gamers on the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie group on Facebook asked whether the device can handle the NBA 2K17. That why we installed and played it. And we experienced no lags during the game play. Same with other games like Asphalt 8 and Mobile Legends.

AnTuTu Benchmark score: 42,798

The 3000mAh battery juice on the device can last a single day with a regular to above average usage.

Here’s a sample screenshot of my usage. Mobile Data is ON most of the time, casual camera usage, internet browsing, and using social media apps.

Charging the device from 0%-100% using the included charger on the package takes almost 3 hours.

The Zenfone 4 Selfie is pack with a 16MP rear camera and a dual-front cameras with 20MP base camera and a 8MP 120° super wide-angle camera to capture selfies and wefies.

The Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie delivers its purpose perfectly. No matter if it is a selfie or a wefie, the Zenfone 4 Selfie can give you what you need. In fact, it has a lot of camera features which are very useful like Beauty Mode to soften your skin, LED flash when it comes to low light environment, and the Selfie Master App which allows you to to have Photo Beautification, Video Beautification, and Beauty Live. This means that you can enjoy live beautification even in video mode and while streaming live on social media apps. These features are very essential for content creators. Other than that, the device can also handle average to above average games like NBA 2K17, Asphalt 8, and Mobile Legends. And when it comes to the downsides, the first thing you will notice is the display, its low resolution size results to average viewing experience. Another thing is the charging time, it takes almost 3 hours to fill up the battery juice of the device, although changing the power adapter into higher ampere might decrease the charging time. Nevertheless, the Zenfone 4 Selfie is a great phone for its price. It can compete with other dual-selfie cameras from other brands.

We hope this article could answer your questions regarding the device. What do you think guys? Let us know in the comment section below.
