Acer Aspire V3 Hello Kitty Edition Quick Review

Warning: This review is full of “cuteness”. 🙂

Yes, what you see here is a cute laptop. Acer made a partnership with Sanrio, the maker of the hit cartoon character Hello Kitty. This is not the first time there’s a special edition laptop with a special character but this is the first time we will review a laptop filled with Hello Kitty on it.

Before we proceed, let’s check out the specs.

As the name suggests, the hardware is based on the Acer Aspire V3. The Aspire V3 has been on the market for a quite a while so Acer has decided to give it a fresh update. The Hello Kitty version now has the latest 7th generation Core i5 processor for better performance and sips less battery. This means this not just a cute laptop but a powerful machine as well.

Overall feel was lightweight and the plastic construction helped with the weight. Although for a price tag of P45,990, you might be expecting metal shell but we do think that metal does not go well with Hello Kitty.

Now for the juicy part – the design. Honestly for a guy like me, it is quite awkward using the Acer Hello Kitty laptop in a coffee shop. But we really can’t deny it is a stunner and a head turner too. Hello Kitty can be seen at the back of the display, the wallpaper and the touchpad.

The white and pink brings more delight and cuteness to any teenage girl or anyone who loves Hello Kitty.

The Acer Aspire V3 Hello Kitty Edition has full version of Windows 10. It also has Cortana and Windows Hello as well. Overall performance is still smooth and the 4GB of DDR3L SDRAM handles multi tasking very well. It does come with Office 365 free for a year when you get one.

WiFi reception  is exceptionally great when comparing with our own laptop we are using. Though we don’t use Cortana much on our own device, we enjoyed using Cortana with the Hello Kitty laptop. Skype video calls are smooth as long as you have a stable WiFi connection.

We were impressed with Acer’s battery endurance on its current models – Acer Swift 3, Swift 5 and Swift 7 with the Swift 5 getting 13 hours of continued use. On the Hello Kitty laptop, we managed to get about 9 hours of video playback at 50% brightness which is not bad.

The Acer Aspire V3 Hello Kitty Edition surprised us with its mere power. Now we know why it is priced P45,990. More than just a cute laptop, it is also powerful as well. For us, this is not just a attention-grabbing piece of tech oozing with cuteness. The internals here matches upper mid-tier laptops on the market, Though it lacks premium feel, it is alright since Hello Kitty does not go well with metal.
