The Cloudfone Next Lite shares the same design DNA from the flagship Next we reviewed before. It is encased in premium metal in a unibody design. We just find the device a bit small for us or perhaps we are so used to holding phones bigger than 5 inches. It has its benefits though, its pocket friendly and bulge free. This gunmetal gray color we are reviewing looks very manly. There’s a silver variant if you want a traditional look and color.

We are very pleased to see a Full HD resolution on the phone’s 5-inch display. Its very rare that we see this on a smartphone at this price point. Watching videos or just looking at it under direct sunlight is such a joy. Colors do pop with such vibrancy.

Another of this phone’s main selling point is the processing power underneath. The Cloudfone Next Lite is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 chipset. It is the only smartphone powered by a Qualcomm processor at this price point. Performance was very snappy thanks to the paired 3GB RAM. Multi tasking is just nothing and it operates like a breeze.

Cloudfone did tweak a little the Android UI by eliminating the app tray. You can bring it back by installing a launcher via Google Play Store. It does not have so many bloatwares which we like very much but the company did have the anti theft TARA app pre-installed. This may come handy in case your phone got snatched or stolen.

We went to Baguio City to test the phone’s cameras. It did not disappoint. It takes pretty good photos – decent saturation and dynamic range. Low light shots are pretty decent too. Here, check out the photos.

Calls are clear with no issues. WiFi, Bluetooth and LTE connectivity comes standard. Fingerprint Scanner works splendidly and unlocks the phone very quick. LTE connectivity is within normal range and speed.

The 3,000 mAh battery is more than enough for your daily use. It can actually last 2 days if you do casual stuff like social media, camera, calls occasionally. But if you are the type that is glued to your phone all the time – watching movies, games, heavy multitasking, the phone did last around 10 hours of heavy use based on our battery draining test. We also got around 4 hours and 39 minutes of screen on time which is fairly impressive.

With its raw power, good build quality and amazing camera, the Cloudfone Next Lite did prove that Lite doesn’t mean less. You will feel less only on its price – P7,990. We recommend the Next Lite to any Android buyer looking for a phone with strong yet power efficient processing power at a very friendly price.
