We must say that we love the presentation of the Mate 9 package. It feels like unboxing an luxury item like watch. From the box itself, you’ll now it is a premium device.

We first encountered the Huawei Mate 9 in a media round table meeting last month. We instantly fell in love with it. Compared with the Mate 8, the Mate 9 is more refined with softer lines and curves making it easier to hold with one hand.  We also find it a bit smaller compared with the past model thanks to the trimmed bezels.

Our first hands on experience, we encountered a glossy but not fingerprint magnet Mate 9. the model we have now is Mocha Brown and it is non glossy which we prefer.

The Mate 9 now has Huawei’s latest custom skn EMUI 5.0. This new version enables the user have an app tray making it more vanilla Android feel. Prayers answered for us! Overall performance has been smooth since we have not installed any apps yet. We got the unit nearly 24 hours ago.

We will be bringing the Huawei Mate 9 to Baguio for a vacation. Expect great photos from our Mate 9 full review plus we will cover all its new features and overall performance.

The Huawei Mate 9 is love at first sight! We personally love our Samsung Galaxy Note 7 but after the fiasco, there is no true phablet that will fill the shoes the Note 7 left. When we first encountered the Mate 9, we knew that it is geared to fill the gap. It is the phone we dream of having. Stay tuned for our full review!
