Infinix Mobile is relatively new in the country’s very competitive budget smartphone market but it is already making noise and following among Pinoy buyers. The Infinix Hot S Pro shares some resemblance with the Sony’s Xperia line of smartphones. Its a simple rectangular piece of hardware. Most guys will appeal to this no frills, gunmetal color design. The smooth metal case is a bit slippery to hold but the good thing here it does not attract fingerprints. We hope Infinix Mobile would sell silicon cases for this one.

Its quite rare to find a Chinese smartphone brand with full HD display at this price point. It is quite viewable under direct sunlight and has good viewing angles.  We are not sure if the glass on top of the display is scratch resistant but better to buy a screen protector on this one.

Since it is a Chinese brand, expect the phone to have a heavy custom skin on top of Android. In the case of the Infinix Hot S Pro, its XOS. The UI uses a flat but colorful motif of sorts. Good thing it has an app drawer which is very rare on a Chinese phone. It is fast and we’ve experience minimum to no lags on heavy use. We’ve been using the device for a month and it has been receiving software updates constantly.

Yep, the MT6753 processor may be a year old but it is still efficient and helps to maintain its low price. Gaming is a breeze but extensive games like NBA 2k17 will load a bit longer it will ran smoothly here.

One thing we admire with the Infinix Note 3 Pro is the camera so, we expect the same great performance on this phone. And it did not disappoint. It takes fairly good photos including selfies. Low light photos are also decent. Here, take a look the some of our photos.

Bluetooth and WiFi comes in standard. Calls are clear with no issues and the fingerprint scanner works with breeze. 4G/LTE speeds are on normal range too. Signal quality has been great too. We could only wish that LTE band 700Mhz could be included as it get really fast internet speeds. But we might be getting a bit demanding, hehe. 🙂

Battery is surprisingly decent despite having an older processor and high res display. We went around 11 hours of normal use with 4G/LTE on consistently and about 9 hours and a half when on heavy use.

The Infinix Hot S Pro is truly a hot phone (not literally hot as in “it gets hot”) with a cool price. But who is this for?

  • Male crowd – The dudes will love the gunmetal gray color and its Xperia-like design
  • Looking for a different UI/look – The XOS is a breath of fresh air. No need to install a third party launcher. It has build in themes too.
  • Good camera for low price – There are a lot of smartphones with good camera at a low price and the Infinix Hot S Pro is one of them.
