Acer continues its tradition of its pebble design to the Acer Liquid Zest. The Acer Liquid Zest comes with a clean and simple look. The white matte back repels fingerprints and smudges but if not properly handled it will take scratches and dings. We do love the phone’s slim design as it makes the device easy to hold with one hand.

Audio coming out from the circular speakers are very loud. It is so loud that we can even hear notifications deep inside our backpack.

The Acer Liquid Zest 4G sports a decent 5-inch HD display which is bright and manageable to use even under direct sunlight. We do find the display on the warm side which completely opposite of the our preferred cooler tone. There is a Bluelight Shield feature to lessen the negative effects of blue light exposure. It is quite similar to Apple’s night shift feature.

Overall, the performance of the Acer Liquid Zest 4G is smooth. Although with the limited 1GB RAM we managed to get 95% no lags on our two-week duration of our review. Acer did very little tweaks on its software and it looks very vanilla Android.

With the limited 1GB RAM, games like Asphalt 8 might not run properly here. Although all time favorites Clash of Clash, Clash Royale and Candy Crush will run here.

Both cameras produce surprisingly good photos especially in good light. In low light the 8 megapixel camera struggles. You can check out our sample photos below.

There are two variants of the Acer Liquid Zest. We have here is the 4G/LTE capable version which is priced at P5,999 while the 3G version is priced at P3,999. We managed to get decent LTE speeds here in Cebu. Calls are clear with no issues.

There’s nothing spectacular with the phone’s 2,000 mAh battery. We managed to get 10 hours of mixed moderate to heavy use with data on. When used the Acer Liquid Zest mainly for games, we noticed the battery drains faster.

Apart from the limited 1GB RAM, the Acer Liquid Zest delivers much of the features we need – good camera, nice display, slim profile, and reliable LTE connectivity. If you feel like the 4G version is bit over budget, the 3G version will do fine and it is quite below preferred budget of P5,000.
