After reporting an unprecedented 40% market share of the world’s gaming laptops, ASUS recently announced its new additions to the Republic of Gamers (ROG) Gaming laptop line.
Headlining these new laptops is the the world’s first water-cooled gaming laptop, the ROG GX700. The laptop has all the internals expected from a cutting edge gaming laptop, but what makes it special is an external water-cooling station that allows the laptop to overclock at a remarkable 4GHz. In addition, 32GB of DDR4 RAM that overclocks to 2800 MHz is also on board. This new technology comes at a price, though, as the gaming laptop is steeply priced at P249,995 and will be available here in the Philippines by early March.
Also new to the line is the world’s first gaming laptop with 3D Vapor Chamber Cooling, the ROG G752. Sounds fancy, but the the laptop’s cooling technology actually helps lower its temperature by up to 30%. The laptop also has separate cooling modules for the processor and the graphics engine to ensure cooler and longer gaming. There’s also a dust release thermal solution which ASUS claims minimises dust build-up on the chassis. This gaming laptop starts at P79,995 and can retail as much as P189,995 for the model with Intel Core i7-6820HQ Quad Core Processor, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD and 2TB HDD, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M with 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM.
Lastly, ASUS added a more affordable gaming laptop, the ROG GL552. The GL552 series comes in two variants – the GL552JX and the GL552VW. Aside from the internals, the most striking difference is the use of plastic and aluminum for the body of the former while pure aluminum on the latter. Both models feature red-backlit keyboards with 1.8 mm key travel for better feedback, Full HD IPS displays, and ROG AudioWizard with SonicMaster premium speakers for better listening experience. The GL552JX is available for PHP 59,995.00, while the GL552VW carries a price tag of PHP 69,995.00.
Here’s a table to help you compare the specs of these new ROG models.
