We are so excited to share our thoughts with the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Classic because it is our first time to review a smartwatch! How is it with everyday use. Let’s find out with the review

Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Classic:

  • 1GHz dual core Qualcomm MSM8x26 processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • 4GB internal storage
  • 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display (360 x 360 pixels)
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 3
  • Rotating bezel
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, Heart Rate Sensor
  • GPS, A-GPS
  • 300 mAh battery
  • Tizen OS

There is no denying that the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Classic is not their first smartwatch. This model is already a big improvement from its predecessors. We have a rounded display and has a leather strap. If you want it more informal and funky, it has a twin called the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Sport which has a silicon strap with variety of colors. We instantly fell in love with the device with its simple but elegant design.

Samsung has brought its own display to their smartwatch. The Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Classic sports a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display. The display is bright and vivid that it can withstand direct sunlight. Our only gripe is that it lacks auto brightness. You have to adjust it manually by going through the settings.

We never experienced any lags or slowdowns with the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Classic. Samsung did not put Android wear here but instead, the smartwatch is running Tizen, the company’s home brewed operating system. Tizen is generally smooth and responsive. It looks a lot like TouchWiz, Samsung’s UI on top of Android. Just like Android, you can customize its look by changing the watch face and downloading apps. Sadly, there are still limited apps that supports Tizen.

If you are not a Samsung smartphone fan, good news is that it works with any non-Samsung Android device. we connect it with the MyPhone My36 and Gionee ELife E8 on the duration of our review it worked pretty fine. You just have to download the Samsung Galaxy Gear app on Google Play Store. Once it is downloaded, you can get notifications from your Facebook, Instagram, Gmail, etc. It does not work with any iOS device.

You can connect your Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Classic via WiFi and read CNN news directly from the watch. Bluetooth is essential because it connects to smartphone. So far, we had not problems with it.

We read a lot about smartwatches and the No.1 gripe of any user is battery life. Samsung has solved that with the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Classic. With just casual looking at the time and checking notifications, the device lasted about two full days of use with 20% remaining power. That is impressive!

Once you tried the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Classic, you will instantly ditch your old analogue watch. It can do more by just telling time. Health buffs will enjoy its health features like montoring your steps or heart rate. Battery is superb and display is great. It is not hard tp recommend the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Classic. 🙂
