MyPhone My35 Quick Review

There are ups and lows for MyPhone this year but good thing is the company will end the year with a bang. Just in time for the holiday season, MyPhone has released new and affordable smartphones with its new direction. As you’ve noticed, all new phones are under the “My” brand. This also marks return of the iconic Philippine map at the back of each and every new MyPhone.

They’ve also made LTE smartphones cheaper just like the MyPhone My35 we have here. But it is not just the price that caught our eye. Find out with this quick review.

We have been ever since fans of MyPhone’s excellent build quality. All MyPhone products we’ve tested since 2013 are still alive and kicking and owners are still happy with it. It is truly build to last. The MyPhone My35 never disappoints and in fact, it impressed us more. It is extremely solid and well built. We just find it a little heavy but that’s because of its sturdy plastic frame construction. The device looks like a sandwich of metal and glass at the front and back but it isn’t. The back is plastic that gives an illusion that you have a glass back. It is easy to remove and peel off too. This reveals the non removable battery, dual SIM card slots and microSD card expansion.

One gripe we had with this is device is that shiny back. It hoards fingerprints and smudges so much that we have to wipe it off every minute. But we do understand why MyPhone chose this design and that is to make an illusion of a glass back.

Having 720p displays on local brands are the norm these days so there’s nothing extraordinary with the 5-inch display. It is bright, sharp and has good viewing angles. Good thing it can withstand the harsh sunlight when using the phone outdoors.

Gamers will be delighted to know that the MyPhone My35 has a large 3GB of RAM. This means graphic intense games will run here. That RAM is paired with an octa core processor which means using the phone is a breezy experience. We never had lags or stutter during our time with it.

MyPhone used a Samsung sensor on its rear camera. Photos are sharp with nice details on good lighting conditions.

4G/LTE, WiFi and Bluetooth come in standard on this device. It also has USB On The Go if you intend to transfer files to your flash drive. LTE connectivity is within normal range while calls are clear on both ends of the line.

We are very surprised with the battery. On our normal usage, we managed to get a day and half with 20% power left. On our heavy use, we managed to get 11 hours of battery. That includes hours of You Tube, IWant TV, playing Clash of Clans and social media. Great battery life!

We never thought that MyPhone will still surprise us with the MyPhone My35. It has better build quality than its older siblings (in which all have good build quality already), capable camera, LTE and amazing battery life. If you are looking for a smartphone as a gift for the holidays, please do take a look at the MyPhone My35. 🙂
