There were so many smartphones released on the first half of the year with really good specs. In fact there are so many, we were not able to review all of them. If you are out for a new smartphone and don’t know what to buy, here are our top smartphone picks under P10,000.
Xiaomi Redmi 2 – P5,999
It may be smaller than 5-inches but the Xiaomi Redmi 2 has LTE connecitivity, a really good 8 megapixel rear camera, and a youthful-looking MIUI on top of Android 4.4 Kitkat. Though, if you are a Smart subscriber, LTE does not work here.
Kata M3 – P9,490 (P7,999 pre-order price for the white variant)
Our favorite Kata smartphone ever. Really good camera, large and bright display, and great build quality. Don’t like it gray color? Worry not! A white Kata M3 is now up for pre-order on Kata stores.
Firefly Mobile Allure 64 LTE – P7,999
Why the Allure 64 LTE? For P7,999 you get LTE, Dual SIM, 5.5-inch HD display, 13 megapixel rear camera, and Android 5.0 Lollipop. Its like a steal. But before you buy one, you have to deal with the bugs that haunts within the software. We just hope that Firefly Mobile will release a software update to fix these bugs.
Huawei Honor 4X – P8,999
As of this writing, we are still reviewing the Huawei Honor 4X. We are currently using this phone as a daily driver and so far, we are very impressed.
Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM – P7,990
If Windows Phone is your choice of ecosystem and not Android, we recommend the Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM. It is the latest affordable Lumia smartphone today.
Starmobile Knight Luxe – P7,490
Looking for a smartphone with elegant looks? Well, look nowhere else but on this smartphone. This device is also very light and slim. It is more elegant in gold too. Performance is smooth thanks to its Octa Core Mediatek processor inside. Camera is good too because the Knight Luxe is packing a 13 megapixel Samsung ISOCELL camera.
Cherry Mobile Cosmos Force – P6,999
The phone was released way back in January and it is usually overlooked by many smartphone buyers. With the release of newer but equally affordable smartphones, the more this phone has been overlooked. So why is this included on the list? It has a 64-bit quad core processor, 5.26-inch HD display, 18 megapixel rear camera (it takes really good photos), LTE capability and Android 4.4 Kitkat upgradable to Android Lollipop.
Asus Zenfone 2 ZE500CL – P7,999 and Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML – P9,999
Of course the Asus Zenfone 2 should be included in the list. This smaller 5-inch phone has a bigger brother, the Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML with 5.5-inch display, 1.8GHz quad core Intel processor with 2GB RAM is priced at P9,999 and we also include this on the list. Both phones are great especially the unique ZenUI that gives added flavor to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
MyPhone Rio 2 – P4,999 (sale price)
One thing we like about MyPhone is they really do make solid smartphones. It comes with different color options and it runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. The camera is surprisingly good and performance is smooth. If you are tight on budget, we strongly recommend this smartphone for you.
Kata i4 – P8,999
Here’s another smartphone with luxury and elegance but in an affordable price. Truly this is a beauty and a beast in a smartphone. For now, it only comes in black but Kata Philippines is planning to release a white version.
So, there you have it. We have not reviewed the Alcatel Flash Plus, the Lenovo A7000, the Lenovo K3 Note, the Huawei Honor 4C and many more but we heard a lot good feedback from users and fellow bloggers who reviewed them. We’re pretty sure that you won’t get wrong with these phones.
