MyPhone Rio 2 Unboxing and Hands On

We’ve been receiving requests to review the MyPhone Rio 2. So, we decided to buy one immediately when MyPhone announced that it was already available in stores. We asked some MyPhone stores in SM Megamall, Robinsons Galleria, and Glorietta but they ran out of stocks. So we waited and now, finally, we have one! Let’s unbox this one!

There is one thing we always admire about MyPhone and that is QUALITY. We’ve reviewed the first generation Rio and Rio Lite plus the older 2013 MyPhone Cyclone and still being used by our friends and family. Until now, the nearly two-year old Cyclone is still working fine. Same thing with the old MyPhone Rio we reviewed last year.

With the second generation Rio, the word QUALITY continues to be seen. The phone is solid and well built. But that is already given. What surprised us is how slim and lightweight the device is despite having a large 2,800 mAh battery. It looks smaller too compared with other smartphones with 5-inch screen.

We noticed that the screen is better than the first generation Rio even if the screen resolution remains unchanged. Digging through the software, MyPhone opted to ditch the app tray and had its own flavor on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Our first impressions? Definitely impressed! We love how sexy this phone is!

We’ll be using the MyPhone Rio 2 for a week as our daily driver. Our review will cover the improvements made in the camera, screen, battery and, of course, Android 5.0 Lollipop itself.
