Nokia Lumia 830 Now Available Locally

Microsoft Mobile (Nokia’s new name and owner) has just announced that the Nokia Lumia 830 is now available locally. This will be the last smartphone alongside Lumia 730 and 735 that will carry Nokia’s name. The company announced that they will be phasing out “Nokia” as a brand and replace it with “Microsoft”. So, the next Lumia device that will come out will be branded Microsoft.

Nokia Lumia 830:

  • 1.2GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor
  • Adreno 305 graphics
  • 1GB RAM
  • 16GB internal storage expandable via MicroSD up to 128GB
  • 5-inch HD IPS LCD display (1280 x 720 pixels) 294 ppi with ClearBlack technology
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 3
  • 10 megapixel rear facing camera with Carl Zeiss optics, optical image stabilization, autofocus and LED flash
  • 0.9 megapixel front facing camera
  • LTE, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC
  • GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou
  • 2,200 mAh Li-Ion battery
  • Windows Phone 8.1
  • SRP: P18,990

The Nokia Lumia 830 is now available on Nokia stores and retailers. We’ve also received unconfirmed news that Microsoft Mobile Philippines (formerly Nokia Philippines) will be changing the names of the existing Nokia stores into Microsoft stores and will be adding new stores or kiosks next year.

We honestly don’t know if we are going to be sad or happy with this development since Nokia is an iconic brand. Since Microsoft is the bigger and more stable brand today, this may be the reason why the company decided to rebrand Nokia into Microsoft.
