Globe Telecom Now Has 40 Million Subscribers

Local telco Globe Telecom officially has 40 million subscribers! As of March 2014, Globe has registered 40.7 Million subscribers which is 16% higher than 35.1 Million subscribers of last year. Globe’s prepaid, postpaid and even TM subscribers got double digit growth. There are 2.1 Million postpaid users, 18.7 Million prepaid subscribers and 20 Million TM subscribers.

“We open the year on a high note with all our mobile brands posting double-digit growth in their customer bases versus previous year’s levels. This testifies that our commitment to provide innovative offers to our subscribers remains sound and solid as we see more postpaid, prepaid, and TM subscribers using the Globe network,” said Peter Bithos, Chief Operating Advisor at Globe. “Sustaining momentum into the succeeding quarters, our customers, both existing and new, can expect more ground-breaking innovations, partnerships, and offers as we help create a wonderful mobile experience.”

Globe will soon change its internet services for its mobile subscribers. Super Surf or unlimited internet will soon be replaced by GoSurf, a new internet services with data cap. Based on what we know, a postpaid subscriber is aloted 5GB of internet a day (correct us if we’re wrong) for P999 a month. ┬áPersonally,┬áthis is a lot better then 1GB a day scheme. There is no word yet as to when will Globe ditch the Super Surf service.
