LG G Pro 2 Short Hands On Review

The LG G Pro 2 is the company’s answer to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Announced in February 2014 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, we believe it was a little bit late since the LG G3, the company’s next flagship is set to be announced this May. We spotted an LG G Pro 2 in SM Megamall and we decided to play around with it.

There’s no denying that the LG G Pro 2 is the larger sibling of the LG G2 because they almost look alike. Even those signature LG rear volume and power buttons are present. Good thing LG has ditched the shiny back cover found on the flagship G2. We own an LG G2 and the back cover attracts all grease, oil and fingerprints found on our hands. That’s the reason why bought a hard shell cover with a soft matte finish so that we will not wipe it all the time. In the case of the G Pro 2, we think you don’t need to buy a cover. The soft matte finish repels all kinds on fingerprints. It is surprisingly lighter than we expect it to be.  Overall, it is a gorgeous smartphone. Period.

The LG G2 has one the displays in a smartphone and the LG G Pro 2 shares the awesome screen!  The full HD display is just stunning which makes us more excited as the LG G3 will be announced soon. It is rumored to have a Quad HD display, sharper than the usual Full HD. The 5.9-inch display will perfect for games and watching movies. Navigation, basic tasks and gaming is generally smooth. This is because the LG G Pro 2 has the latest quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.

We have not the tested the camera on the G Pro 2 but according to the pictures we saw that is taken from the phone’s 13 megapixel camera, it is really stunning. The Optical Image Stabilization will help you take better pictures so don’t worry if you have shaky hands. We are not sure about the price but according to what we’ve heard, it is priced around P29,990 which is not bad. It is a few bucks cheaper than the 7 month old Galaxy Note 3.

Verdict – Is the LG G2 still small for you? Get the LG G Pro 2. How about between the LG G Pro 2 and the Galaxy Note 3? Watch out for our comparision article coming out soon! 🙂
