At long last, broadcast giant, ABS-CBN has launched its mobile service – ABS-CBN Mobile. I know ABS-CBN is prepping a grand launch for the new mobile service. But after Super Typhoon Haiyan (local name: Yolanda) ravaged the Visayas region, the company decided to quietly launch the service and gave away 100,000 SIM card to survivors for them to communicate with their love ones. SIM cards will be included in the relief packages being distributed by ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya Foundation.
ABS-CBN Mobile SIMs are loaded with P50 load, 15 free texts to all networks, and 5MB worth of mobile internet. The company is also selling 100,000 SIM cards in Metro Manila and other parts of the country. SIM cards are now available in tiangges and cellphone stores. Just look for the logo above.
So, what are ABS-CBN Mobile’s services? So far, only prepaid services are available and postpaid services will be offered soon. Since this is a new telco, services are still limited.
