Smart and Globe Released Statement Regarding Subscribers Affected By Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan)


Both Globe and Smart subscribers are affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan). Many cellsites were damaged as the super typhoon ravaged the Visayas region.


According to Globe, only 20% of the network in Visayas were damaged. Globe’s service were affected in the following areas: Biliran, Cebu, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Northern Samar, Southern Leyte, Western Samar and Iloilo. Only in Camiguin, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte in Mindanao were Globe services are affected. Globe will immediately restore services once the weather improves.

Smart, on the other hand, said that their services was disrupted in Eastern Samar, Ormoc and Tacloban in Leyte, and northern part of Cebu.

Sakloload On-Net. Dial *SOS or *767 and get free three texts to Smart/Talk ‘N Text and P1 airtime even when you no longer have load. The Sakloload will be deducted in your next top-up.
