Microsoft has released the second generation Surface tablet line – the Microsoft Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2. The first generation Surface tablets didn’t get the traction they wanted because of many criticisms with it. There were mostly because of the hardware (heavy) and the price (expensive). The Surface RT was criticized mainly due to Microsoft’s Windows RT OS does not support Windows 7 apps.
With the second generation Surface tablets everything was improved – the screen, aesthetics, OS itself, and performance. Sadly, Surface tablets won’t still be available in our country. Why? One reason – after sales service. Microsoft Philippines only sell software, software support and productivity tools here. I understand since the Surface is a young product and there is still more room for improvement. But I think it won’t be long before these tablets be offered here because Microsoft has already bought Nokia which offers after sales support and has a following here. WIth the introduction of two new Nokia phablets, the Lumia 1520 and 1320 and the 10.1 inch tablet, the Lumia 2520, expect a jump on Nokia’s sales this coming holidays. In fact, I would be switching soon to Windows Phone and I’m eyeing to get the Nokia Lumia 925 (hopefully) now that Instagram is coming to the OS.
Anyway, here are the reviews of the Microsoft Surface Pro 2:
