Alcatel One Touch Soleil Hands On: My Likes and Dislikes

I got a surprise package! Its the Alcatel One Touch Soleil! Its an affordable smartphone from Alcatel and also comes free when you apply Sun Postpaid Plan 350. The phone has entry level specs – dual core processor, 4 inch screen, and a 5 megapixel camera. its surprisingly snappy when simply navigating and switching in between apps. I’m currently testing it and full review will be posted on Unbox (hopefully).

Here is a rundown of specs:

  • 1GHz dual core processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • 4GB internal memory expandable via MicroSD up to 32GB
  • 4 inch IPS LCD display
  • 5 megapixel rear camera
  • VGA front facing camera
  • 3G, WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth,
  • 1,400 mah battery
  • Android 4.1 Jellybean

During my almost 2 hours playing with it, I can say its a one solid device. It also gets the basic tasks done. When texting, calling, playing light games and music. the device never showed signs of lags and slow down.  So here are my likes and dislikes.

  • Solidly built, a worthy competitor of the Starmobile Jump
  • Gets basic  tasks done.
  • Android 4.1 Jellybean makes buttery smooth performance.
  • Good display with nice viewing angles

  • Battery life – Only 1,400 mAh battery. It drains faster with WiFi and 3G on
