BUILD QUALITY AND DESIGN
The Vivo V11 now comes in a sandwich glass body which most premium phones have now-a-days. The one that we have has the Starry Night coating that became more elegant with gradient color with glittery accent.
We also love the metal plate with golden color accent that surrounds the rear cameras.
On front, the Halo Notch now only houses the selfie camera which became more pleasing to the eyes. On top are the voice call speaker, the ambient light and proximity sensor. For sure, it won’t be a big problem anymore from some apps like IG Stories and some games. The lower bezel has also reduced in size which results to a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
Ports and Buttons:
- Top: microphone
- Bottom: 3.5mm jack port, microphone, micro USB port, speaker
- Left: triple slot microSD & SIM tray
- Right: volume rockers and power button
Overall, the Vivo V11 is now more stunning and beautiful as compared to the old Vivo V7 and V9 units.
The Vivo V11 now comes in a Super AMOLED display. Although it has nearly the same resolution with the older Vivo V9, we can say that the integration of the OLED display on the V11 makes it better to look at. It also has a huge 6.4-inch display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, which results to a really nice display estate.
SOFTWARE, OS, UI
The Vivo V11 now comes in Funtouch 4.5 custom skin and running on Android 8.1 Oreo. It is still just like any other Vivo smartphone in the past, except for the integration of the new AI assistant – Jovi.
Jovi is Vivo’s AI assistant that can work behind the camera for recognizing skin type, gender, age, etc. It also has Smart scene that can generate an information aggregation card to remind you to take rest if it detects that you are doing to much work. And lastly, it also handles AI Game Mode that enhance your in-game experience.
The Vivo V11 is powered by the Snapdragon 660 AIE processor, Adreno 512 GPU, and a memory configuration of 6GB RAM / 64GB of internal storage.
The SD660 may not be as powerful as the SD835 and SD845 but it is capable enough to perform intensive processing with ease. The 6GB of RAM is huge enough to handle multi-tasking and shifting through multiple apps simultaneously.
The in-display fingerprint scanner works pretty well. Although it is not as fast as those usual fingerprint scanners, it can still perform its task to unlock the phone. And since it requires a slightly longer time to unlock the phone, accidental touches won’t unlock the phone easily. Take note that the Face Access feature is really fast too.
This device supports dual 4G SIM signal running at the same time. It can now also connect to 5G wi-fi signals and has the latest Bluetooth 5.0 module.
When it comes to charging port, we are expecting to see a USB Type-C port instead of the regular micro USB port. Moreover, the dual engine fast charging technology solved one of the problems.
The Vivo V11 has a lot of improvements on its camera section. First is the upgrade on the aperture size on its rear camera. The f/1.8 aperture size on its 12MP sensor has results to better low-light imaging. The Backlight HDR also works pretty well in balancing the light when the subject has a brighter background. Its selfie camera has also upgraded to a 25MP sensor with AI Face Beauty. Vivo has also added Selfie Lighting on its front camera which allows you to apply artificial lightings like; Studio light, Stero light, Loop light, Rainbow light, and Monochrome background.
Backlight HDR and Portrait Mode
No effect, Studio light, Stero light, Loop light, Rainbow light, and Monochrome background.
When it comes to battery endurance, the Vivo V11 has passed our one day of intensive usage. We take it into a whole day test from 8AM to 12MN with the frequent use of mobile data, GPS, social media, web browsing, and other stuff. At the end of the day, we still had 15% of battery juice left. This means that the Vivo V11 can stand all day and in case you need to charge, it has a dual engine fast charging technology that can fully charge the device from 15% in just 1 hour and 30 minutes.
The Vivo V11 is a real stunner, with its sandwich glass body, AMOLED display with a small notch cut-out, impressive cameras, and the addition of fast charging technology. We can say that with the price of PHP 19,999, Vivo has just priced it right. If we take a look of the older Vivo V9 and compared it with the new Vivo V11, you can really see such an improvement not only on the design but also on the internal specifications.
