Cherry Mobile has recently launched their new generation of Flare series smartphones equipped with the Android Oreo Go Edition. These devices under the new Flare series are the; Flare P3 Plus, Flare P3, and the Flare P3 Lite.
Luckily, we had the chance to have a review unit of the Cherry Mobile Flare P3. All of them are equipped with the lite version of Google apps and other applications. Let’s see if this phone is the one you are looking for.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE / DESIGN
The Cherry Mobile P3 has a plastic back cover and a metallic frame. Its glossy finish adds some elegance to the device as compared to other plain or matte finish phones. The device is very comfortable to hold thanks to its curve edges.
Removing the back cover, you will see the battery, the two nano SIM slots, and the microSD card slot.
The micro USB port and the 3.5mm headphone jack port are located on top of the device.
It has the power button and the volume rocker on the right side.
While the speaker grills are placed on the bottom part of the phone.
At the back, it has the camera, LED flash, and a fingerprint scanner.
The Flare P3 has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD with 1280×640 pixels of resolution. Even though it still has thick top and bottom bezels, its screen looks taller just like other mid-range phones in the market because of its 18:9 aspect ratio display.
OS, APPS, AND UI
What’s special about the Flare P3 is the Android Oreo Go edition running inside of it. With this OS, applications like Google Go, Maps Go, and YouTube Go are lighter and easy to handle by the smartphone itself.
The User Interface is clean and there are no to much unnecessary or bloatware apps pre-installed on it.
The MediaTek MT6580 quad-core processor paired with the Android Oreo Go edition provides a considerable experience considering that the Flare P3 is under the entry-level category.

What’s good about Android Go edition is that, applications are able to run while using less storage and memory. That’s why the 8GB ROM and 1GB of RAM is enough to handle the daily applications that you use and to do some multi-tasking.
It can run the most of the low-graphics games like Candy Crush Saga, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Clash of Clans, and many more.
At the back, the Flare P3 has a 13 Megapixels camera equipped with Auto-Focus, backside illumination (BSI), and an LED flash. It is able to capture acceptable quality images in good lighting conditions.
While at the front, it has a 5 Megapixels camera that you can use to take selfie, groupie, and for doing video call with someone.
Its 2,400mAh of battery juice is able to last all day on a regular use. The Android Oreo Go edition helps on saving battery since most of the apps are just on their Lite versions.
The Cherry Mobile Flare P3 is a perfect fit for those who are looking for a smartphone under Php4K budget. For the price, you can get a device that has a 5.5-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Android Oreo Go Edition, and a fingerprint scanner for added security. The Flare P3 is one of the first Android smartphone here in the Philippines to have the Android Go edition operating systems. With this, entry-level devices are able to optimize and run applications efficiently.
