PHYSICAL APPEARANCE / DESIGN
The OPPO F7 Youth comes with the nothless design and no fingerprint scanner compared with its bigger sibling. This might be a plus factor for those who doesn’t like the notch on the OPPO F7. When it comes to the overall design, the F7 Youth has inherited almost the same physical appearance with the OPPO F7. Its also nice to see the Diamond Black color on the F7 Youth which is only available on the 128GB of the F7.
The absence of the notch doesn’t make the F7 Youth a big step down. In fact, it still shares the same 1080p resolution on an 18:9 aspect ratio display. The colors are vibrant, the details are sharp, and the screen brightness is good even outdoors during daytime.
This device shares the same Helio P60 processor found on the OPPO F7. This new processor has been proven by giving unexpected high benchmark scores and good performance specially on multi-tasking and playing games.
One of the trade-off of a lower asking price on the F7 Youth are the cameras. This devices was only equipped with a 13MP rear camera with an aperture of f/2.2 as compared to the 16MP on the F7 with an aperture of f/1.8. On good lighting conditions, the F7 Youth is being able to produce just the same shots on the OPPO F7. But during low-light or dim environments, the F7 Youth shots are a little bit grainy.
Taking the battle on the front camera, the F7 Youth only has 8MP with f/2.2 camera as compared to the 25MP with f/2.0 on the F7. As we tried and tested both devices side-by-side, we can’t actually see a huge gap between the two devices except for the image size. The F7 Youth can still provide you the same images that the OPPO F7 can do.
The 3,410mAh of juice on this device can last a whole day of moderate to average usage. If you are fun of taking selfies and using your social media all the time, you might want to bring a powerbank just in case you have no access on power outlets.
We can say that the OPPO F7 is a good alternatives for the OPPO F7 if you are running out of budget. Basically, you can enjoy the same overall design except for the notch and fingerprint scanner. The performance is still one of the fastest within its pricepoint.
