Over the weekend, Huawei officially rolled out the newest software updates to Huawei Mate 10 Series, introducing the Face Unlock with the highly fingerprint sensor and password.
The newest technology update, Face Unlock, provides users with a third unlocking method for optimal convenience. With this update, users may enable Face Unlock in the “Security and Privacy” submenu which can be found in the phone settings. When accessing the feature for the first time, users will be prompted to enroll their face by taking a clear headshot.
After creating a facial profile, users will have two (2) options to use the Face Unlock update – Direct Unlock and Slide to Unlock. Both Direct Unlock and Slide to Unlock gives users the freedom to choose the option that best suits their preferences and usage.
Direct Unlock allows the users to unlock the device automatically when the screen is turned on and the user’s face is recognized. It works best when the option to unlock the device is enabled, as it allows users to use the update with minimal effort, while the Slide Unlock requires the users to perform a swipe gesture to unlock the device after his/her face is recognized. It also synergizes with Smart Unlock Screen Notifications which blocks notifications from being viewed unless the device is first unlocked.
The update is now available for download on Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Aside from Face Unlock, the update also brings May 2018 security patches from Android. Make sure you have a stable WiFi signal and sufficient battery life before downloading.
