HARDWARE AND DESIGN
The Moto G5s is made up of metal all around its body. It has a very sleek and premium-looking design which makes the overall look of the phone so strong and outstanding compared to other mid-range smartphones which are made up of plastic body. Compared to the Moto G5s Plus, this lower model only has one rear camera as compared to the dual-camera setup on the Moto G5s Plus.
On the front, since this device was released last 2017, there are no sign of having bezel-less on top or on the bottom part and no 18:9 aspect ratio. As you can see, the fingerprint scanner was placed on the front replacing the navigation buttons. It also has a single selfie camera on the front accompanied by a LED flash.
On its right side, it has the volume rocker and power button.
On top, you will find the 3.5mm headphone jack port.
On the bottom, it has a microphone, micro-USB port, and the speaker grills.
And on its left side, there you will find the SIM card / microSD card tray.
This Moto G5s has a 5.2-inch sceen size. It has a Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It only means that you can expect sharp details on the screen. You don’t also have to worry about screen scratches because this device was protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
OS, UI, AND APPLICATIONS
The Moto G5s comes in Android 7.1.1 Nougat and it User Interface is very clean. It has a lot of Google app installed but no other unnecessary third party apps. The camera interface also looks clean and has few quick toggle icons on it.
Benchmarks scores are also satisfying based on the mid-ranger level of the Moto G5s. At the AnTuTu app, it got a score of 55,798. On the 3DMark app using the Sling Shot, it got an overall score of 560. And on the Geekbench 4 app, it got a score of 2107.
Considering that the Moto G5s has been out in the market since October last year, we can’t complain why it doesn’t have the latest technology trends like having a near bezel-less display and 18:9 aspect ratio. But if you are not fan of these new technology and what to stick with the typical designs of smartphone, the Moto G5s might be the one for you. It still has a very sleek and premium looking design. What we also love about it are the Full HD screen resolution, fast charging technology, and nano-coating technology for making the phone water-resistant.
What do you think about the Moto G5s? Should you get it?
