Nokia Makes Its Return to the Philippines

You’ve probably know that Nokia made a big comeback to the smartphone business after the company sold its smartphone making section to Microsoft years ago. After that, Nokia continues to exists just as many people thought Nokia died. The company focused on its other business – telecommunications infrastructure and networking equipment.

Last year, Microsoft sold its Nokia-branded feature phone business to HMD Global, a newly formed company composed of former Nokia and Microsoft executives and employees. Then HMD Global got a big nod from Nokia to use its name, patents and rights to pave the way of Nokia’s return to the smartphone arena. And earlier this year, Nokia did made a return with four new smartphones – the Nokia 3, 5, and 6 with the iconic Nokia 3310 (2017 model).

Earlier this week, HMD Global Executives are in the country officially introduce the new Nokia smartphones to the Philippine market.

The new Nokia smartphones are set to return to our local stores in Q2 of 2017. No price and availability has been mentioned but stay tuned as we hear news of a grand launch coming soon.
