Sony did made a boo boo on a press conference in Slovakia and accidentally leaked a timeline of Xperia smartphones getting Android 7.0 Nougat update.

According to the leaked roadmap, the following phones will get Android Nougat are the following – Xperia X Performance and XZ (October 2016), Xperia X and X Compact (November 2016), Xperia Z5 Series, Xperia Z3+ and Z4 Tablet (December 2016), Xperia XA and XA Ultra (Early 2017).

It is nice to see that older Xperias like the Z5 series and even the nearly three-year old Xperia Z3+ will be getting the latest from Android. This is what we admire about Sony. They are normally the first to get software updates ahead of Samsung and LG.

Sony has been criticized with their lack of innovation especially on design. But 2016 has been rough for the Japanese tech giant as the Xperia X series was heavily criticized its problematic camera, lack of flagship specs for its high price and disabling the fingerprint scanner for US variants.

We believe that the new Sony Xperia XZ will impress many with the improvements done plus the Android Nougat update we are all waiting for.
