MyPhone has doing good in terms of sales since the introduction of the company’s new “My” line of smartphones. We reviewed the MyPhone My35 and we’re so impressed with it. HARDWARE AND DESIGN
Compared to the MyPhone My35, the MyPhone My36 is sleeker, thinner and longer. That is because of the bigger 5.2-inch display compared to the 5-inch display of the My35. The My36 is significantly lighter too. But what makes us fall in love with the MyPhone My36 is the faux leather at the back that makes it elegant looking and the 2.5D curved glass on the display. It is also very comfortable to hold with one hand.
Audio quality coming from the speakers are pretty good and loud. Plugging in our third party earphones and audio is also good with good amount of bass.
Another big difference between the My35 and the My36 is the display resolution. The MyPhone My36 has a bigger 5.2-inch display. Aside from that, it is also on Full HD (compared with My35’s 720p display). Colors do pop on the display plus it is also viewable under direct sunlight. The display is one of MyPhone’s best strengths and never failed to impress us.
SOFTWARE AND PERFORMANCE
We are happy to report that the MyPhone My36 performs extremely well on demanding tasks. The 3GB RAM is more than enough to handle graphic intense games and idle apps. We never had any problems with lags or slowdowns.
MyPhone is the latest brand to eliminate the traditional Android app drawer and all of the apps are on the display. If you don’t like the new UI, you can simply install the Google Now launcher and it will be give you the vanilla Android feel.
The camera is also MyPhone’s best strengths. The 13 megapixel / 5 megapixel camera combo never fails to produce really good photos no matter what lighting condition you have. The photos we took are vibrant, sharp and has good detail.
The 2,900 mAh battery is more than enough to get you throughout the day. On our heavy battery test, we managed to get 4 hours and 35 minutes of screen on time which is about 9 hours of battery life including standby time. We used the phone mainly to watch videos and play games with WiFi and LTE turned on.
We had no problem with the MyPhone My36’s connectivity options. LTE is superb using our Globe SIM. Calls are clear and the line is clean with no crackles. Bluetooth and WiFi worked fine as well.
The MyPhone My36 is truly the best budget Android flagship smartphone today. For only P6,999, you get an elegantly designed smartphone, LTE connectivity, great camera, smooth interface, decent battery life, and great build quality. This is the smartphone to beat fellow techies!
