Apple quietly unveiled a new accessory for the iPhone 6 and 6s – a battery case that promises 25 hours extended use. This is Apple’s long-due response to users’ complaints on iPhone’s relatively shorter battery life compared to its Android counterparts. Before its release, users rely on third party makers for battery cases which are either bulky or not Apple certified.
Apple claims it offers up to 18 hours of internet surfing over LTE, up to 20 hours of extra video playback and up to 25 hours more talk time.
Unlike third party cases before it, Apple’s Smart Battery Case doesn’t collapse into multiple parts. Pocket Lint reports that it easily slips on to the phone like a regular case. It charges through a Lightning port making it compatible with other docks.
It comes it two colors – Charcoal Gray and White. The inner lining is made of a soft microfiber material, while the exterior is made of silicone. The only probable awkward thing about the Smart Battery Case is the battery bump. It looks like your iPhone is wearing a jet pack. Bump aside, the case looks great.
No word yet on when it will be available in stores here in the Philippines, but the accessory is already available on PH Apple store for P5,790.
