ASUS Philippines unveiled a slew of PCs, laptops last October 23 at an exclusive event in Valkyrie, Uptown BGC. The event highlighted bew laptops and notebooks with gaming, productivity and style in mind. Of course, all devices ran the latest and greatest version of Windows to date, Windows 10.
The event was divided into two parts. The first focused on ASUS’ new generation of Republic of Gaming or ROG laptops. The new laptops feature 6th Generation Intel® Core™ processors along with new chassis and a much improved hardware giving all gamers at heart an edge. The new line is composed of three models: the ROG 752, the ROG GL552 and the ROG 501.
The ROG 752 boasts of a unique thermal design that effectively repels dust and prevents its build-up. This system keeps dust away from the internal components of the laptop and maintains and even prolongs the device’s lifespan and stability. It also has dedicated cooling modules for the CPU and the GPU for effective cooling. Even under intense gaming situations, the laptop keeps itself cool by expelling heat through the rear vents. The unit starts at P79,995.
The ROG GL552, on the other hand, is a mid-range gaming laptop, but it doesn’t mean it’s much less of a powerhouse. It’s still powered by a 6th-generation Intel® Core™ i7 processors and NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX™ 960M graphics with DirectX 12 support. It also has a highly-responsive, red-backlit keyboard with specially-marked WASD keys and up a 15.6-inch Full-HD display with wide viewing angles. The design retains the classic stealthy F-22 Raptor-inspired lines popularized by ROG’s G series. It also comes with up to 1TB hard disk drive and an up to 128GB SSD for both maximum storage and maximum speed. Prices for the ROG GL552 start at P59,995.
Then, there’s the G501, the thinnest 4K display gaming laptop yet. The 15.6-inch display has a QHD resolution of 3200×1800 for detailed visuals and immersive colors. Its body is also thin and light at a height of just 20.6mm and a weight of 2.06kg. It also has a red-backlit keyboard with 1.66mm of key travel for a more responsive feel. The laptop also comes with the exclusive Hyper Cool technology that employs dual fans and copper heat sinks to remove heat efficiently with minimal fan noise. All these greatness for prices starting at P79,995.
The second part of the event focused on ASUS’ new line of notebooks, also powered by 6th-generation Intel® Core™ processors and run on Windows 10. Announced were three new units – the UX501, UX305 and the K555. All notebooks are built for productivity and functionality and were designed with maximum power and mobility in mind.
The Zenbook Pro UX501 is designed for users that demand power and style. At just 20.6mm thin, its body is made from aluminum featuring ASUS’ brushed-metal finish. The 15.6-inch IPD display has a 4K resolution (282 PPI) with great viewing angles. The notebook lasts up to 6 hours on a single charge. It’s available for P89,995.
The ZenBook UX305 is also a beautiful 13.3-inch Full-HD to QHD notebook designed to compete head-to-head against Apple’s new 2015 MacBook. Its available in Gold or Ceramic Alloy. Price starts at P59,995 for the Core™ i5 version.
The VivoBook X555 is also powered by a Core™ i7 processor and GT940 graphics card. It features instant on that resumes the computer from sleep in just 2 seconds. It also has USB 3.0 ports for data transfers up to 10 times faster. It comes equipped with ASUS’ SonicMaster technology that bring high fidelity audio. It is priced at P44,995.
Finally, ASUS announced the availability of the Zen AiO Pro. The 23.8-inch All-in-One PC, like the rest of the products, aim to fuse art with industry-leading technology. The design is all-aluminum with superb performance and specifications hidden underneath. It’s powered by a 6th-generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor and gaming-grade NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX™ 960M graphics with up to 4GB of video memory. Other leading-edge technology showcased in the Zen AiO Pro Series includes the latest USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, up to PCIe® 3.0 x4 M.2 SSD storage. It also has six speakers backed by ASUS’ SonicMaster Premium sound system. What ASUS is banking on with the Zen AiO Pro is its design. With an edge-to-edge glass display and a brushed-metal finish body, the PC is sure to add style to any space. Aside from all of these, the Zen AiO Pro is also the first All-in-One to use the next generation USB 3.1 Type-C connector. The PC is priced at P109,995.
